A Baltimore County police officer climbed onto the roof of a two-story townhouse in Turner Station to rescue a dog that could not get down.

What’s Happening: Officers responded to the 300 block of Pine Street in Dundalk after receiving reports of a dog stranded on the roof of a townhouse and unable to safely get down. Officer A. Flores accessed a second-floor rear window of a neighboring home, with the neighbor’s permission, and climbed onto the roof. Once there, she sat down and persuaded the dog to come to her.

What’s Important: After Flores secured the dog, firefighters responded to help bring both her and the animal safely off the roof. Police believe the dog got onto the roof through an upstairs window that had been left open and could not return inside because of the steep pitch of the structure.

What’s Next: The dog is in the care of Baltimore County Animal Services while officers work to locate its owner.
