The Anne Arundel County Police Department is hosting a free event for children at Arundel Mills Mall next month, giving kids a hands-on look at police work.
What’s Happening: Junior Officer Discovery Day is set for June 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Arundel Mills Mall Dining Pavilion, 7000 Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover. The event is open to families with children ages 5 to 12 and is hosted by the department’s Community Relations Division.
What Kids Can Do: Activities at the event include:
- Fingerprinting demonstrations and take-home kits.
- An evidence-style photo booth.
- A close-up look at police vehicles and equipment.
- A create-your-own badge and craft station.
- A kid-friendly obstacle course.
- A visit from Razz, the department’s comfort dog.
How to Sign Up: Registration is required. Families can sign up through the link posted on the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Facebook page.
