Temperatures across the Baltimore-Washington region will climb steadily through midweek, with highs potentially reaching 100 degrees by Wednesday, July 1, according to the National Weather Service.

What’s Happening: Monday starts relatively mild, with highs between 79 and 89 degrees and overnight lows dropping to 64 to 69 degrees. Light winds out of the east-northeast at 5 mph, with gusts up to 10 mph, are expected. Conditions Tuesday warm considerably, with highs climbing to 84 to 95 degrees and lows of 67 to 74 degrees.

What’s Important: Wednesday brings the peak of the heat, with highs forecast between 86 and 100 degrees and overnight lows staying elevated at 71 to 79 degrees. The National Weather Service says conditions should remain mostly dry through Wednesday, but isolated afternoon showers or thunderstorms are possible, particularly over the mountains.
