Mostly cloudy skies and patchy morning fog will mark Washington’s Birthday across Maryland on Monday, with temperatures reaching the mid-40s in most areas.

What’s Happening: The National Weather Service forecasts highs near 46 degrees in the Baltimore-Washington region, 40 degrees in northeastern Maryland, 47 degrees in southern Maryland, and 44 degrees in western Maryland. Patchy fog is expected before 8 a.m. in central Maryland and before 10 a.m. in western parts of the state.

What’s Important: Temperatures will climb through the week, reaching the low 50s Tuesday and low 60s Wednesday in central and southern Maryland. Rain chances start Wednesday afternoon, with a 20% chance of precipitation after 1 p.m. in the Baltimore-Washington area.

Rain and Snow Chances Later This Week: Rain becomes more likely Thursday through Saturday, with chances ranging from 30% to 70% depending on location and day. Western and northeastern Maryland could see a mix of rain and snow Saturday night into Sunday, with overnight lows dropping to the upper 20s. Southern Maryland will stay warmer, with rain only through the weekend.
