Tidal flooding is expected along the Anne Arundel County shoreline Saturday morning, with water running up to a foot and a half above normal levels.

What’s happening: The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. High tide at the U.S. Naval Academy hits at 11:26 a.m.

What’s important: Once water reaches 2.6 feet, it may begin pooling in the City Dock parking lot and around the Alex Haley Memorial. Up to half a foot of flooding above ground level is expected in low-lying areas near the shoreline.

How this affects real people: Some roads may close. Drivers should leave extra time and stay out of standing water or areas blocked by barricades. Property owners in flood-prone areas should act before the advisory begins at 9 a.m.
