A school bus and three other vehicles collided Thursday morning in Gaithersburg, injuring five people and sending one adult to the hospital as a trauma patient.

What’s Happening: Montgomery County Fire and Rescue was called to Firstfield Road and Clopper Road at 7:18 a.m. Crews arrived to find four vehicles involved, including the school bus.

What’s Important: All five injured were taken to hospitals. One adult’s injuries were serious enough to require trauma care at an area hospital. A trauma designation means emergency crews determined the patient needed immediate specialized treatment.

What We Know: Scene photos show a white sedan with its driver’s side crushed in, a black BMW with heavy front-end damage, and a school bus stopped along the roadside. Montgomery County fire trucks were on scene.
