A charter bus with a brake malfunction crashed at Wisconsin Avenue and Battery Lane in Bethesda Monday, injuring one person and shutting down a major road after doing damage to several blocks.
What’s Happening: Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service units responded to the crash at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Battery Lane. One person was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
What’s Important: Wisconsin Avenue, also known as MD-355, remained closed as of Monday while crews worked to clear the scene. Drivers were urged to use alternate routes.
How This Affects Real People: Wisconsin Avenue is one of the main north-south corridors through Bethesda and into Washington. A closure there can back up traffic across a wide area during any part of the day.
