A longshoreman died Monday after being injured during a cargo-handling operation at the Dundalk Marine Terminal, according to Maryland Port Administration Executive Director Jonathan Daniels.
What happened: A worker with the International Longshoremen’s Association was fatally injured during cargo handling at the Dundalk Marine Terminal. The worker’s name has not been released pending notification of family.
What’s important: The Dundalk Marine Terminal is one of the main cargo facilities at the Port of Baltimore, located in Baltimore County along the Patapsco River. The port employs thousands of workers and handles millions of tons of cargo each year.
