A fire hydrant was struck overnight in the 8400 block of Fort Smallwood Road in Anne Arundel County, cutting water service to about 6 businesses and some nearby residents.

What’s Happening: The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works said water is off in the area and that Riveria Beach Fire Station is among those affected. The department said it is coordinating with the fire station.

What’s Important: BGE has been called in to make repairs.

What’s Still Unknown: The cause of the strike, the number of residents affected, and a timeline for when water service will be restored have not been released.
