Firefighters rescued three dogs and one rabbit from a house fire on N. Church Street in Sudlersville on Friday morning.

What’s Happening: The fire was reported at 10:54 a.m. at a two-story wood-frame home across from the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company. Heavy smoke was showing from the first floor when crews arrived.

What Happened: Firefighters conducted a search and began firefighting efforts. As fire conditions intensified, crews changed tactics on the second floor. All four animals were removed safely and were uninjured. Neighbors cared for the animals until Queen Anne’s County Animal Control personnel and the homeowner arrived.
