The sentence also covered an attempted first-degree murder charge, two armed carjackings, and four armed robberies that occurred between September 12 and October 4, 2024.

What’s Important: Antonio Peoples was shot and killed on September 14, 2024, outside The Ruxton restaurant in the 700 block of Aliceanna Street in Harbor East. His girlfriend was grazed by a bullet and treated for her injuries.

What We Know: Surveillance footage captured the shooting. According to prosecutors, Spinks and another suspect parked a dark-colored Toyota Camry near Peoples and his girlfriend, got out with firearms, and tried to steal their necklaces. Peoples resisted, disarmed one of the suspects, and fired back while on the ground. The suspects then shot and killed him before driving away.

Police recovered dozens of shell casings at the scene, including 7.62, .40 caliber, and 9mm rounds, along with five casings from an unknown rifle.

Detectives located Spinks in Washington, D.C. on November 1, 2024. After being advised of his Miranda rights, he agreed to speak without an attorney and admitted to attempting to rob Peoples and shooting him. He also admitted to the other crimes covered under the plea.
