Mayor Brandon Scott and the city’s neighborhood safety office are asking West Baltimore residents for input on Baltimore’s next five-year violence prevention plan Wednesday evening.
What’s happening: The Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement is holding a listening session at the Carolyn E. Fugett Intergenerational Center, 800 Poplar Grove St., from 5 to 7 p.m. The session is the first of several planned public meetings on a draft plan the city intends to finalize later this year.
What’s important: Mayor Scott, Baltimore City Council District 9 Councilman John Bullock, MONSE Director Stefanie Mavronis, and Baltimore Police Department Deputy Commissioner Kevin Jones are all scheduled to attend. Residents can also give input through a public survey.
How this affects real people: Baltimore residents can shape the city’s violence prevention strategy before it is finalized. Additional session dates and locations have not yet been announced.
