A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday for portions of western Maryland, western Virginia, and eastern West Virginia.
What’s Happening: The National Weather Service issued the advisory for extreme western Allegany County and western parts of Highland, Grant, Mineral, and Pendleton counties. Mixed precipitation is expected to bring up to one inch of additional snow and a light glaze of ice. Wind gusts could reach 45 mph.
What’s Important: Roads are expected to be slippery during the Thursday morning commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.
What Drivers Should Know: The National Weather Service advises drivers to slow down and use caution. Road condition updates are available by calling 511.
