Maryland will close one lane on the Gov. Thomas Johnson Bridge on Route 4 starting Sunday for maintenance work.
What’s Happening: The Maryland State Highway Administration will begin structural and maintenance work on the bridge Sunday, Jan. 18. Flaggers will close one lane and alternate traffic Sunday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through late February, weather permitting.
What’s Important: The lane closures will happen overnight only. Drivers crossing the bridge during those hours should expect delays.
What We Know: The Gov. Thomas Johnson Bridge carries Route 4 traffic across the Patuxent River between Calvert and St. Mary’s counties. The work is routine structural and maintenance. Signs will alert drivers to the lane closure.
