The Thomas Johnson Bridge in Solomons reopened after a crash involving an ambulance shut down the span.

What Happened: The bridge was closed after a motor vehicle crash involving Ambulance 39 from Company 3. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office announced the bridge reopened at 1:50 p.m.

What We Know: The ambulance was involved in an accident on the bridge. The extent of injuries was not immediately known.

The Bridge: The Thomas Johnson Bridge connects Calvert County and St. Mary’s County across the Patuxent River. It is the primary crossing between the two counties in southern Maryland.
