- Baltimore police have charged 39-year-old Paul Gant with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of 47-year-old Adrian Griffin on Aug. 20 in the 3400 block of Garrison Boulevard.
- Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando, the Democratic nominee for county executive, suffered a heart attack Saturday during a pickup basketball game and was hospitalized at George Washington University Hospital, where doctors successfully placed a stent. His office said doctors expect a full recovery and plan to discharge him later this week.
- Gov. Wes Moore announced on Labor Day that direct Maryland Aviation Administration contract workers at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport will now earn a minimum of $18 an hour.
