An explosion involving carbon dioxide equipment at a Baltimore Coca-Cola bottling facility injured four workers Tuesday morning.
What’s Happening: Firefighters responded to the Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated facility in the 700 block of N. Kresson Street shortly before 10:30 a.m. after an explosion involving equipment that handles carbon dioxide. Crews rescued multiple injured workers and provided emergency medical care on scene.
What’s Important: One worker was taken to a hospital in critical condition. A second worker was transported in serious but stable condition. Two other workers were treated at the scene and released.
What’s Still Unknown: The Baltimore City Fire Department is investigating what caused the explosion. The facility handles carbon dioxide as part of its bottling operations.
