Three men are in custody after robbing and assaulting a man at Arundel Mills Mall, then leading police on a chase that ended in a crash in Baltimore County.

What’s Happening: Brandon Eric Edwards Jr., 21, of Severna Park, Daevone D’andre Johnson, 24, of Glen Burnie, and Elijah Amontay Fisher, 20, of Glen Burnie, were arrested after the incident Friday evening. The victim fired his own gun during a struggle in the Burlington Coat Factory vestibule, hitting one suspect. The suspects took the victim’s handgun and cell phone and fled.

What’s Important: Police tracked the suspects using mall cameras and the department’s Real Time Information Center. Officers found the suspects’ black Nissan Altima in Glen Burnie. The suspects drove onto northbound Interstate 97 into Baltimore County when officers tried to stop them, then crashed on Interstate 695.

The Chase: The three suspects ran from the crashed car. Police helicopters from Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City tracked them while officers from Anne Arundel County and Baltimore County Police searched on the ground. All three were caught.

Injuries: The victim was hurt in the assault but his injuries were not life-threatening. Two suspects were treated for injuries from the crash. The third suspect was treated for the gunshot wound from the struggle. One Anne Arundel County police officer was hurt in a separate crash during the response and was treated and released from a hospital.

What Was Recovered: Officers found the victim’s handgun in the Burlington Coat Factory parking lot and his cell phone near Route 100 and Oakwood Road in Glen Burnie.

Catch Up Quick: A shot was fired during a fight at Arundel Mills Mall on Friday. Police initially said several people of interest were in custody.
