Maryland residents should grab umbrellas today before a sharp cold front makes the second half of Thanksgiving week feel more like winter.

What’s Happening: Rain will fall across the region today with temperatures in the mid 50s to low 60s. Tonight, showers may bring a rumble of thunder as mild conditions continue through Wednesday morning. Temperatures on Wednesday will start in the 60s to low 70s before winds pick up and temperatures drop late in the day.

What’s Important: The big change comes Wednesday afternoon when a strong cold front crosses Maryland. Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, will be chilly with gusty winds and temperatures only reaching the mid 30s to mid 40s. Mountain areas will see temperatures in the 20s.

Between the Lines: Friday stays cold with temperatures in the upper 30s to 40s, and gusty winds continue. The weekend brings slight improvement with partly to mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 30s to mid 40s, though mountain areas will remain in the 30s.
