A driver struck two Maryland State Police troopers early Sunday morning on Branch Avenue in Prince George’s County. Both troopers were taken to a hospital and have been released.

What’s Happening: Avery Alexander Bost of Upper Marlboro, was arrested and charged with suspected impaired driving and other traffic charges. Bost was driving a Maserati sedan.

What Happened: Shortly before 1:30 a.m., two marked patrol vehicles were parked in the left lane of northbound Branch Avenue near Allentown Road with emergency lights on. The first trooper’s vehicle was parked behind an unoccupied vehicle. The second trooper’s vehicle was parked behind the first trooper’s vehicle.

The Maserati struck the rear of the second trooper’s vehicle. That collision caused the vehicle to hit the trooper who was standing outside his vehicle. The impact also pushed the second vehicle into the first trooper’s vehicle.

What’s Next: Troopers from the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack are investigating.
