This weekend’s winter storm dumped between 3 and 10 inches of snow across Maryland, with the highest totals in the northern and central parts of the state.
What’s Happening: The National Weather Service in Sterling, Virginia, collected snowfall measurements from trained spotters, emergency managers, and official observers across Maryland through 4:28 p.m. Sunday. Clarksburg in Montgomery County recorded the highest total at 10.8 inches.
What’s Important: Baltimore County saw some of the heaviest snowfall. Cockeysville reported 10 inches and Edgemere reported 9.2 inches. Howard County also got hit hard, with Columbia measuring 9.7 inches and multiple locations reporting between 6 and 9 inches.
The Numbers:
- Highest total: Clarksburg (Montgomery County) at 10.8 inches
- Baltimore area: BWI Airport recorded 7.6 inches
- Washington area: Anacostia in D.C. measured 7.0 inches
- Southern Maryland: Totals ranged from 3.3 to 6.5 inches, with lower amounts in Charles and St. Marys counties
What We Know: The storm hit all of Maryland’s counties. Northern and central regions got the most snow. Frederick County saw totals between 6.5 and 9 inches across multiple locations. Carroll County reported between 5 and 8 inches. Southern counties including Charles and St. Marys received lighter accumulation, with most totals between 3 and 6 inches.
