A 47-year-old Baltimore man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting that left a 35-year-old man in critical condition late last month.

What’s Happening

Kevin Brooks was arrested January 5 in the 1000 block of North Mount Street by Warrant Apprehension detectives, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

Brooks was charged with attempted first-degree murder and taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility.

The charge stems from a shooting that occurred December 29 in the 600 block of North Fremont Avenue.

What’s Confirmed

Officers responded to the 2500 block of West Fairmont Avenue around 11:48 p.m. on December 29 after receiving a report of a shooting.

They found a 35-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a hospital and listed in critical condition at the time of the initial report.

Investigators later determined the actual shooting location was the 600 block of North Fremont Avenue.

What’s Still Unknown

Police have not released the victim’s current condition.

No information has been provided about what led to the shooting or the relationship, if any, between Brooks and the victim.
